Facing Falassarna from the hill after the village of Platanos, you will see many greenhouses, since the area is suitable for horticulture. You will see two large beaches, separated by some sand dunes. The southernmost beach (Pachia Ammos) is the longest and widest. Further south you will also find two beaches: a sandy beach with rocks on the bottom and the pebble beach near the small harbor.

Falassarna is 59 km from Chania and you can reach the area through the highway from Chania to Kissamos (Kasteli). After passing Kasteli, you will continue to Platanos and from there, you can follow the signs that will lead you to Falassarna. Reaching the hill above Falassarna, you will see three miles of spectacular beaches lying at your feet. The route from the hill to the beach is about 3 km. It is quite narrow, so you need a little attention, especially if you are driving at night or in the midst of the tourist season with the increased traffic.
As Falassarna is extremely popular there is a daily connection from Chania and Kasteli to the beach by bus. So, even if you do not have your own car, it will be easy to reach the area. Rethymno is 120 km from Falassarna and Heraklion is 195 km.

Nightlife in Falassarna is active due to the beach bars, which often organize beach parties. Since 1995, the youth of the neighboring village Platanos organizes in Falassarna a big party on the first or second Saturday of August. The admission to the party is free and the drinks are cheap. Most visitors camp on the beach at night and have fun until the morning.
