To the rear of the room is the staircase to the upper and lower floors and to the front are 2 sets of double patio doors each opening on to the seaward facing veranda. A stone fireplace is one of the focal points of the living room, but the real eye-catching feature is the stunning view across the gardens to the sea.

Front veranda: This vast area has columns and a tiled roof which creates an outside living space.

Bordered with various herbs and perfumed shrubs this is a perfect external seating area - shaded in

the day and sheltered in the evenings. A feature arch in the end wall gives glimpses of the side garden and there are sun-blinds to protect the area from the Cretan breezes.

Kitchen: the large kitchen is completely separate but located conveniently next to the dining area.

Fully fitted floor and wall cupboards in dark blue paneled wood and fitted with stainless steel

Shower room: A shower-room tiled in pale jade green and cream with hand-basin and WC in classic white completes the ground floor.

Staircase: A classic sweeping marble staircase with decorative wrought iron banisters leads to the

first floor hallway.

Bathroom: a spacious bathroom with extra large bath is located to the left of the stairs. Fittings again are white ceramic and the tiles are two toned jade.

Bedrooms 2 & 3: Both 1st floor bedrooms are good sized doubles with floor-to-ceiling wardrobes in

light beech-wood. Both also have stunning sea and mountain views and have access to the first floor

breakfast terrace.

Basement: From the living room an internal staircase leads to the basement where there

is a washing machine.

External: The property is totally enclosed with wrought iron gates for both access points in the

attractive boundary stone wall. Elsewhere walls and fencing define the boundaries

Garden and terraces: The gardens are fully landscaped with mature shrubs plus productive fruit and olive trees. The outside living areas include shaded seating terrace set in the trees, large side terrace half of which has a tiled pergola and the huge covered veranda to the front of the house which looks out across the pool to Souda Bay.

Pool: the tiled and graduated private pool (9x4 swim area) is surrounded by plentiful sun terraces and is bordered by a fragrant herb garden.

Villa Delfini

We have just spent two wonderful weeks at Villa Delfini. The views out over Souda Bay are fantastic and would be very hard to beat. The villa is in a peaceful location but within a shorty walk to two local tavernas and a small shop. It's only a 2/3 minute drive to Plaka and not much more to Almyrida where there are plenty of restaurants and shops. Probably essential to have a car though as there's plenty to see round and about. Laia met us at the villa as arranged and was very helpful. We were impressed with the fact that we could negotiatewhen the maid service and the pool cleaner were going to come as at other places people have just turned up out of the blue and it can be a bit intrusive - we like our privacy! We were really impressed with how clean and fresh the whole place was . The level and standard of equipment is superb and there is everything you need. The underfloor cooling worked a treat. The pool was excellent and very welcome in the heat of the day. We have stayed in a number of villas around the area and all in all Villa Delfini comes out tops!

Fabulous Stay

We (2 x couples) have just returned from a wonderful relaxing break at Villa Delfini. The views were outstanding and the location was beautiful and so peaceful. We enjoyed spending the days lounging around the beautiful pool area, cooking BBQs and enjoying the local wines in the day time. In the evening there are a couple of restaurants within walking distance, but we tended to go out in the car in the evenings and sample the restaurants slightly further afield. There is a nice atmosphere and lots of choice of places to eat in Plaka and in Almyrida (both within 5 - 10 minutes' drive from the villa. We enjoyed a particularly good evening at the Emerald Hotel restaurant, where they had a set 4 course menu and wine tasting evening. Not a restaurant to be missed and the sunsets are fabulous. Equally, the sunsets from the villa are magnificent. The view really is completely uninterrupted to the bay. Laia was very nice and greeted us with a smile, even though we managed to get lost on the way and kept her waiting a long time! She was very knowledgeable about the local area and recommended places to visit. All in all we had a really lovely stay here and I cannot wait to return to the beautiful island of Crete. Thank you Michel and Laia

Tara, thank you very much for your great review for Delphini! It is our pleasure to host such guests, so clean, tidy, discreet and non demanding at all! We are at your disposal in case you ever decide to visit Crete again. We wish you a a really cheerful summer! Michel, Anne and Laia

Perfection is all the description it needs

What a fabulous villa to spend your holiday in.Private enough for those who want quietness, close enough to all amenities for those who seek the livelier side of Crete. The facilities could not be faulted with kitchen and living equipment everything you could ask for.The view is even more hypnotising than the gallery shows and the pool and garden area, well, what can I say that does it justice. There always seemed to be somebody around either cleaning the house or the pool ( I say that in a nice way) and Michel and his team were helpful and friendly from the point of booking throughout. It was all we could do to drag ourselves away and we can't wait to return one day (hopefully sooner rather than later)

Meet your host, Michel
