On the first floor, you will find two bedrooms and a bathroom with bath tub, toilets and washing machine. One of the bedrooms has one double bed, and the other has two single beds. Both bedrooms have their own balcony with view on the mountains.

Windows and beds have mosquito nets, and all main rooms are equipped with air condition.

All the villa is decorated with taste. Its spacious indoor areas will allow you to rest in the cool, shaded indoor spaces during the hot hours of summer afternoons.

On the top of the villa, you will find a roof garden.

The outdoors of the villa are equipped with outdoor armchairs, and allow you to enjoy peaceful view towards the Cretan mountains, and the delightful summer evenings of Crete.

The surroundings of the villa consist in a courtyard, and a space for your car. It is thus an absolutely safe environment for children.

The villa is located in the village of Pitsidia, which makes it a very convenient place to stay: you will get to the village for some shopping within minutes.

In the other direction, you will quickly get to the main road. Once you crossed it, you will reach Komos beach within a 1.5 km walk.

Located in the plain of Messara - one of the most fertile areas of all Greece, from where fruits and vegetables are shipped towards the rest of the country - our village used to live from agriculture until the eighties. Everybody here has his olive trees, producing one of the finest olive oil in the world.

From this traditional past, Pitsidia inherited its unique style: picturesque small streets, old beautiful stone houses with courtyards shaded with bougainvilleas, and a lovely central square - where you can spend hours drinking a cold coffee or an ouzo in a quiet, beautiful and totally relaxed environment.

Don't forget to pay a visit to the church of Agia Paraskevi - the oldest one in the village - and to our old fountain, where people used to go to wash their things and get water for the house.

Nowadays, the activity of Pitsidia includes both agriculture and tourism, with a perfect balance between both. This makes the village an authentic, lively and typically Cretan village, as well as a convenient and hospitable place, where visitors are more than welcome and easily meet the locals in the village daily life and events. Nothing like mass tourism, here! The taverns, cafeterias and other shops are familial businesses; most of their owners are from the village.

The location of Pitsidia, both central and away from the main axes of north Crete, makes our village the ideal place to stay, whatever type of holidays you have in mind:

The gorgeous beach and archaeological site of Komos can be reached by foot (approx. 20 minutes walk).

walk in the olive groves and vineyards, or in the hills surrounding the village, and enjoy the quietness of the Cretan countryside, and the awesome panoramas on the Messara bay and the Cretan mountains.

If you are not into walking, there is a horse-riding farm in Pitsidia, offering possibilities of excursions by horse.

If you want to go a bit further, the beaches and touristic resort of Matala are just a couple of kilometres away.

Less than 10 kilometres from our village are the archaeological sites of Phaestos and Agia Triada.

Within half an hour drive, you will find other beaches, byzantine churches, monasteries, gorges, mountain villages, a museum...

Finally, many other places of interest are reachable within a one day excursion from Pitsidia (Heraklion and Knossos, Rethymno, Preveli...).

Nice place to stay

The description of the villa corresponds with the one on the website. The owner is warm but not intrusive. The villa is clean and situated in the village itself. It is typical and good situated to discover the surroundings. We had a very pleasant week.

Meet your host, Afroditi
