All these years we have worked in the Istron Bay Hotel. We created a group of four luxury villas each with its own pool, in the same bay with the hotel, near enough to enjoy all the facilities, yet far enough away to be protected from any disturbance.

Located just below Villa Marianna, Villa Dimitris evokes an exotic atmosphere as it is surrounded by explosively blossoming rose and herb gardens and a glorious palm tree. The complex is just 100m from the renowned beach of Istron Bay Hotel which has been honoroured with the prestigious blue-flag award for 18 years in a row.
The whole villa is tiled with magnificent Volos pink marble creating a sense of luxury. The spacious living room combines a siiting area, a dining area and a fully equipped kitchen. Villa Dimitris has two comfortable bedrooms with their own bathrooms. The master bedroom has a bathroom with a bathtub. The other bedroom has a bathroom equipped with a shower. All bathrooms are tiled with Volos pink marble.
Its large terrace (106 s.m.), which offers its guests much needed privacy, has a private pool 6x6 s.m., a sunbathing area, with a parasol and sun lounges. The villas are located in one of the most picturesque areas in Crete. As you can see from the picture, there are a number of neighbouring beaches, the closest one being just 150m from your doorstep.
Istron Villas share the same beach with the five - star Istron Bay Hotel named Pilos (clay). The beach is honoured with the blue flag award since this program started. Pilos beach is organized so that you can enjoy all sorts of water sports (including scuba diving). You will also find sun beds and umbrellas, showers, WC's, provided to you for free, and a beach restaurant.
The village of Istron is about 1km from your villa. You can find supermarkets, a drug store, cafes and restaurants within the village. Also, if you like hiking, there are many beautiful routes you can try. Walking tours are also organized by Istron Bay Hotel. There are other three awarded beaches within the village. Each one is very special and we recommend that you visit them.
Places to visit
If you decide to leave our beautiful bay in order to explore the area, there are so many places around to visit. For your convenience you may rent a car to do so (Istron Top Cars).
A short trip to the east will bring you to Gournia, a well maintained Minoan village, which lived glorious days in the early Minoan era, when the island Psira was an international commercial centre.
Further eastern, you may visit the fishermen village Mochlos, with antiquities from every historical period, and a sunken port. After enjoying your fish (there are two restaurants certified for good Cretan cuisine as well) you may continue towards east to visit the picturesque village Lastros and the Cooperative of Agricultural Associations of Sitia, and taste some of the best olive oils of this world. Then, enjoy a raki at the Sitia harbour and visit the Venetian castle Kazarma, where the sound of the medieval oratorio "Erotokritos" is still alive. Further east, you should visit the Toplou Monastery and meet the modern history of Crete, and, if you are lucky, you may visit the place where they produce one of the very best organic olive oils of the world.
From there, you are only a few minutes away from Palekastro, with a still unexplored Minoan Palace where the beautiful Hymn to the highest Kouros (Zeus) was found. There, in the beach of Chiona, is one of the best places in Crete to enjoy fresh fish, in an environment protected from human constructions. From there you should go to Vai, the only natural palm forest of Europe, and enjoy the beautiful sandy beach and the bright turquoise waters, or just enjoy a coffee.
You may complete the exploration of eastern, by returning from the south. Enjoy a raki at the harbour of Makrigialos and a coffee in Ierapetra. From there, driving towards north, you will meet the detour to a traditionally reconstructed village Monastiraki, where you may enjoy a meal in the local taverna.
If you chose to drive west, you will stop to Agios Nikolaos, to visit the museum, to enjoy a coffee at the lake, or, even better, above the lake, to take the boat to Spinalonga, the leper island. You will be impressed by the beauty of the coasts and you might even enjoy a bath in the virgin island Kolokitha combined with a barbecue on board.
From Agios Nikolaos, you are only 10 minutes away from the picturesque village Kritsa. On your way stop to visit Panagia Kera, a 13 century temple with fresco icons of a very particular value and technique. From Kritsa, you may drive up to the less touristic Plateau of Katharo, known for the relics of mini-elephants and mini-hippopotamus. There are two cafe-restaurants there, and it's worth it to taste the local cheese, rusk and lamb.
From Agios Nikolaos, you may also drive further west towards Malia, with the well maintained Minoan Palace and even further to the Cretaquarium, with an interesting presentation of the local sea fauna. If you come for the first time, you have to drive to Heraklion and visit the Palace of Knossos and the Museum of Heraklion. There is much more to see there, as the area is the fertile valley where the best Cretan wines are produced. On the way back, you may visit the Lassithi Plateau, where the cave - birthplace of Zeus is.
These are only a few of the places you could visit. The list is long. You do not have a chance to get bored!
