A little more about Chania

The charming city of Chania, on the western part of the island, is considered one of the best vacation destinations in Greece. The picturesque Old Town of Chania is a historical monument, which has been created as a palimpsest by the traces left by the many conquerors who passed from the island. The architectural style of the Old Town is a combination of Byzantine, Venetian, Turkish, Egyptian, and Greek characteristics, which is the reason why Chania is a unique city full of surprises. Walking in the Old City and the Old Harbour of Chania, you will be amazed by the juxtaposition of the old with the new, the medieval ambience of the place combined with the contemporary cultural events taking place literally on every corner.

Taste the local flair in traditional taverns and restaurants or enjoy a drink while you gaze at the romantic scenery of the Old Port and the view of the most famous lighthouse of Greece.

Chania region is well known for its pure nature, such as the great mountain of Leuka Ori, the one of a kind European gorge of Samaria (the longest in Europe and part of the E4 path) and the unique beaches with crystal clear water, such as the following:

• Elafonissi: A beach with pink sand and turquoise waters

• Falassarna: An oceanfront beach with golden sand and cedar clusters

• Balos: A turquoise lagoon, you can reach only by boat or on foot

These are just the most popular among the hundreds of spellbinding beaches of the region of Chania.

Feel free to ask us about the countless destinations that really worth a visit!

      • This beautifully restored 200-year-old and 300m2 villa sits on a very big plot in the heart of the delightful village of Kefalas, regarded as one of the most beautiful in The Apokoronas region of Western Crete. The spacious villa is reached via a short lane with, access through double metal gates into a large private and walled front courtyard. On entering the villa, you are struck by how spacious and open it feels. The lounge has, a stone featured open fire place, wooden floors and traditional high Cretan ceilings with full beams. The second section of the lounge houses a grand piano and two stone arches, leading to a large and fully equipped modern kitchen-diner. There are fully fitted appliances, a large L shaped open breakfast bar and preparation area, marble tiled work tops, and a dining table for up to 10 people overlooking the garden through a splendid fan shaped window. Double wooden doors lead from the dining area to the rear gardens. On the ground floor, a hall leads from the lounge to two bedrooms (one with a double bed and the other a mezzanine split room with two single beds plus one on the mezzanine).
